I buy the cassettes too because basically most of this stuff is not on cd. Unless they came out with a greatest hits, and many did because they were all big in UK.

You're probably like me and know of most of these bands but it's cool to find how thery got started, where the members went, what the UK hits were, how many albums etc....for instance, did you know that Limahl, who sang "Neverending Story" was the singer for Kajagoogoo? LOL!
Dan, did you know that most of those bands have cds on ebay? For real, if you want 'em and are willing to spend about $5 a pop, you can snag 'em there.

I don't really do ebay though. I bought one thing on there. a drum machine, and I had to use my wife's info, cuz i'm not a member, or registered, or whatever. I got a lot of my 80's greatest hit cd's through BMG I think...or the other cd club.
Anyway, I like to listen to the cassettes that had their 1 hit on them, and if there is more stuff that could've been a hit, and I like their sound then I look into them more, so that's why it's easier to just buy $1 cassettes to check 'em out. If it's a band I like, then I would spend $5 on a greatest hits on ebay, but by the time you spend all that time and effort, it's a pain in the ass.
Marcus, I've checked out that pure 80's pop site before, and it seems like I can't click on anything on that site. Do you have to sign up or something?
BTW, I got Dead or Alive -gr. hits on now. I think Flock of Seagulls next.
Hey Marcus the reason you can't find "the Honey Thieves" is because they don't exsist.LOl That song was by a band called "Hipsway" and the Blow Monkeys single was "Digging your Scene".

"Johnny Hates Jazz", now there's a name I haven't heard in a looong time!
One thing that really sticks in my mind was that the guy who was always pushed to the back in the photos bore an uncanny resembelance to a young Christopher Lee!!
I also remember this one Flock Of Seagulls video that sent the TV into "COLOUR OVERDRIVE"!!! Lots of flashing and state of the art camera tricks that didn't date too well when I saw it a year ago. Think it was "Who's That Girl?" or something like that.
